What the Evangelical Lutheran Church has to offer
If you are a member of the Church and you have been confirmed, you can have a church wedding and you can be asked to be a godparent. You can also be elected to a position of trust in a congregation.

Congregations offer a staggering amount of services, the majority of which are completely free of cost. Even the services that do have a cost are clearly cheaper than their actual cost. Congregations offer you, among other things:

Churchly services

A priest conducts baptisms, weddings and funerals
A cantor plays the organ during churchly services
You can use a church or a chapel for the service
A church usher (advises you, for instance, on the use of the church when you have a wedding there)

All of these services are realized with the money gathered with the church tax. Each member of the church pays church tax in connection with other taxation. In addition to the services provided to its members, the church helps all those in need near and far.
